HB
Managing Partner
In 1999, Nicolas helped create HB after stints at several different business-to-business technology agencies. He had identified a need for a technically-savvy creative marketing communication agency with solid business processes and a focus on measuring campaign outcomes. In his career, Nicolas has managed communications campaigns for brands such as HP, Gore Bike Wear, EMC, Fairchild Semiconductor, Vicor Corporation and NanoHorizons. Nicolas developed his keen interest in climate change in the early 1990s when he worked at the University of Minnesota’s Limnological Research Center for geologist/climatologist Kerry Kelts. This interest, combined with his love of the outdoors and experience hiking on three continents, fueled the creation of HB’s clean technology area of expertise -- an area of significant business opportunity and personal fulfillment. Nicolas’ volunteer and philanthropic interests revolve around conservation, renewable energy and the preservation of open spaces. Nicolas regularly speaks on branding and public relations. Recent appearances include the Boston Association of IT Professionals (AITP), GSAS Harvard Biotechnology Club, and Yankee IABC Senior Corporate Communicators Group, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce and CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education). He has also presented for the Middlebury Entrepreneurs Mentoring Service and is a co-founder of Middlebury’s intensive winter term program, MiddCORE – Creativity, Opportunity, Risk and Entrepreneurship.
