Andrew Tarsy
Executive Director

Andrew Tarsy is a co-founder and the first professional Executive Director of the Progressive Business Leaders Network. Andy is a proven non-profit leader and public policy professional. For more than a decade has been an advisor and partner for senior business leaders on a range of social, community and policy issues. 

Andy was with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for 8 years, as Executive Director of ADL New England and previously as Eastern States Civil Rights Counsel. Following his departure from ADL, Andy was a senior executive with the international education non-profit Facing History and Ourselves and then served as a Visiting Professional with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.

Earlier in his career Andy was a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice, in the Civil Rights Division and the Attorney General's Honors Program. Andy also practiced law with two firms including New York City's Vladeck Waldman and the Boston and New Hampshire offices of Nixon Peabody where he focused on government investigations and established the firm’s first working group on corporate social responsibility.

Andy was appointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Hate Crimes in 2000 by Governor Jane Swift and the Governor’s Task Force on Public Integrity by Governor Deval Patrick in 2008. He is a graduate of the Roxbury Latin School, Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences, and the George Washington University School of Law (with honors). 




Andy was named "Lawyer of the Year" in 2007 by the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and in 2008 received the NAACP's Kivie Kaplan Humanitarian Award. He is a senior trainer of law enforcement executives through an ongoing relationship with the Municipal Police Institute and serves on the Board of Directors for Mickey's Kids, a summer camp scholarship program.
